The Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Overland Park is one of five in the greater Kansas City, KS area. Since the Dobbs decision, while other states have limited access to abortion, Kansas has become “an unlimited and unregulated Midwest abortion destination,” in the words of Archbishop Joseph Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Since 2021, abortions have increased by 57%, driven by women from surrounding states.

Poor decisions by the Kansas State Supreme Court and the failure of a pro-life ballot measure have made Coalition Life’s sidewalk counseling vital for saving pre-born lives. Again, in the words of Archbishop Naumann: “Where we can no longer protect pre-born and women’s lives through law, we can rescue them through love.” Coalition Life sidewalk counselors turn women away from the destruction of abortion and toward life-affirming real solutions.

During our Kansas sidewalk counseling beta test earlier this year, a small team of our counselors yielded our most successful results of any location to date: nine women left the abortion facility in a single week. Based on that life-saving pace, our knowledgeable and experienced team of professional Coalition Life sidewalk counselors are poised to help an additional 400-500 women on the brink of abortions choose life-affirming options next year!
