Pro-life work in Flossmoor faithfully continues because our sidewalk counselors are a vital witness to women. Without a doubt, we know these women need our love and support. Unfortunately, the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood remains the site of countless injuries to women. Our sidewalk counselors have witnessed three ambulance calls in less than two months. Sadly, a fourth situation should have also been an ambulance call.

Still, the day-to-day pro-life work in Flossmoor faithfully reaches women who have nowhere to turn. 

Coalition Life’s pro-life work in Flossmoor includes partnering with organizations to place Freedom of Information Act requests for all ambulance calls. These groups, like the Pro-Life Action League (PLAL) and Illinois Right to Life, share information to make our sidewalk ministry more effective. Because of the heroic action of our sidewalk counselors, there are always eyes on the facility so that we can help women after abortion injuries as well.

While sidewalk counselors deal with negative comments daily, occassionally they encounter a supportive person who stops to thank them. One such incident reported by Dan in Flossmoor involved a person who had a previous abortion and wished someone had offered her an alternative: “A lady drove into the Flossmoor Planned Parenthood today and told us that she had an abortion as a teenager and it devastated her. She stopped to thank us for helping women choose the right decision. She is unable to have children because of the abortion and wishes someone had told her the truth and had been standing in front of the clinic to help her.” – March 9, 2023
